Define the general details of coupons

Coupon creation is crucial to saaslogic. To create a coupon in saaslogic the merchant has to consider various factors from defining a code to applying it to specific products. In this section, let us understand how the basic details of the coupon are entered as the first stage of coupon creation.

The following details are needed to complete the basic detail/general section:-

  • Coupon Code

  • Name of the coupon

  • Stage in the subscription lifecycle that you wish to apply this coupon

  • Its availability (Public or Specific Customer)

  • Validity

  • & define your Terms & Conditions to make this coupon available to your customer

Coupon Code - The coupon code is the code that your customer will enter to redeem the coupon. You will need to distribute this code to your customers. Coupon codes are limited to a maximum of 10 characters. Coupon codes are case sensitive and can be alphabetic, alphanumeric or just numeric.

Naming your coupon - Doing this in a detailed manner is quite useful during sign-up. You should be able to easily understand what the offer is all about without checking the coupon details in the web interface.

The coupon can be applied at any stage of the subscription lifecycle:-

  • New Subscription

  • Subscription Changes

  • Existing Subscription

This can be either applied to the Public or to a Specific Customer.

The Validity of the coupon can be defined with dates along with the Terms and Conditions.

Thus, you can specify how long the coupon will be valid and how many times it can be redeemed.

Select the expiration date in the Valid Till field. Once this date passes, the coupon becomes invalid or inactive on the customer's account and will no longer discount an invoice.

Example:- During the festive season, you could offer coupons with limited period saying they would be valid until December 25.
