Customer address is important

Address is important for billing purposes and for other communications.

Once you are done adding the customer to the saaslogic platform, it is time to add their address for credibility and communication purpose.

The newly added customer will now be seen listed in the customer section in the Not Ready status. The +Add Address option in the subscriptions section allows you to add the address of the customer.

Click on +Add Address and you will be taken to the following flyout:-

Here you can add the communication address of your customer. This includes their name, address, country of residence, state, city and zip code. This can be set as Default.

Default Address - This is the address that will be used for all communications with the customer and it is this address that will be displayed in the Info tab of the customer.

Set as default - Any of the listed addresses can be changed as the customer’s default address by clicking on edit icon and enabling the Set as default option in the edit window.

You can add multiple addresses for a customer by clicking the Addresses section in the Manage drop down found against an Active customer list.

All the different addresses of the customer will be listed here and you can add a new address by clicking on the +New Address tab.

You can list all the addresses of your customer here. Each customer can have multiple addresses but only one default address. The address that is set as default in the address tab will be the address displayed in the Info section of each customer.

You can edit or delete each of the added and listed address by using the respective icons placed against each of these addresses.

In the edit window you can change the particular customer’s information like, Name, Address, City and ZIP.

You can also enable/disable the Set As Default toggle option against the default address. However, the Country and State cannot be edited. Once you perform all these activities you can click on Save to save the updated data.

Address validation

Validating the customer's address is important for good taxation practices and proper communication.

If you have enabled the address validation (Avalara's Address validation provided by saaslogic) you will get a validation window while Adding/Editing a customer address. It will look like the below:-

The validation window will display both the Given Address and Validated Address.

The Given Address is the address that you have entered, and the Validated Address is the address that is validated by the provider.

If you require to set the entered address (ie Given Address) as your address then click on – Keep Original Address.

If you require to add the validated address (ie Validated Address) as your address of communication then click on Use Validated Address.

You'll get a success message after selecting the any of the above option

It is possible to change the default address of a customer at any time and it will be this default address that will be listed in the Info tab. However, only the address will change and the name of the customer will remain the same as mentioned while adding the customer in the +New Customer section.
