Help your customers subscribe

You can create a customer subscription here.

Phew! You have completed a tedious task of adding your customers and their users. Now it is time to help your customer to subscribe to your product from their list.

There are two ways to create a subscription for your customer:-

  • From the customer menu using the Manage dropdown, that will list a New Subscription option

  • Using the +New Subscription button from the Subscription menu

While trying to Create a New Subscription from the Subscription menu, you will need to select the customer against whom you wish to create the subscription.

Once the customer is selected, the product against which you need to create the subscription too should also be selected.

The steps that follow are common to both the ways in which a new subscription is created.

Go to the Customer Menu to create a subscription from here. This will display the following:-

  • The different customers.

  • The total number of their subscriptions for all their products collectively.

  • The default address and contact details of the customer (email id, contact no.).

  • +New Customer button will allow you to create a new customer.

  • The search bar allows you to search for a particular customer.

  • The filter icon allows you to filter the listed customers by name, product, plan, customer status.

  • The Manage drop down against each listed customer will allow you to make different changes and also create a New Subscription.

The New Subscription link will direct to a page that will list the different products that you have made available for the customer to subscribe to.

These products will be listed along with a short description.

The name of the customer will also be displayed. Here, you can use the search button to search for the product that you wish to subscribe for the customer.

The workflow of creating a new subscription is also displayed here. The current workflow of the subscription will be highlighted in bold.

Addons and Attributes for the selected product will be displayed in the workflow based on whether it is available for that product.

Once the appropriate product is chosen, click on Next to view the list of plans through the product can be subscribed.

The various plans in the different available billing frequencies will be listed here. There will be a Start Trial button on a plan that has a trial period. Click on the Select button of the desired plan.

The Billing Address of the customer will also be displayed here.

The default address of the customer will be displayed as the billing address in this page. In case the customer has multiple billing addresses you can choose the address of your choice by clicking on the Change link found against the billing address.

Once the plan and the billing address is chosen, the customer can customize certain resources to the plan. This is strictly applicable to tiered and flat plans only. Based on the units added here, the price of the plan will display the necessary variations.

Now, click on the Select button to make your choice of the desired plan. Then click on Next.

At this point, you may add the necessary Add-ons based on their availability in the product. The rates of the Add-ons will be displayed here. The necessary Add-ons can be added by clicking on the +Add button. The added Addons can be removed by clicking on the -Remove button.

The total cost of the product so far will be displayed in the bottom section.

Click on Next and all the attributes attached to this product will be displayed. Enter the values for the attributes that you want to attach to this subscription.

Once you have entered the necessary values in the Attributes section, click once again on Next to arrive at the Check Out page.

Here, the following details of the subscription will be displayed:-

  • Display name - The name by which the subscription will be referred to. This can be changed as desired.

  • Subscription start date - This is the date that the merchant can decide for the customer. This can be either a future date, back date or current date.

  • Current billing cycle

  • Apply coupons via link if applicable

  • Product Description

  • The different resources included in the plan along with their pricing

  • The various charges incurred against this product

  • The Add-ons added along with its price

  • The total cost of the subscription along with the tax and finally the Grand Total.

  • The different ways by which the payment against this subscription can be made (Card or Bank).

Click on Check Out and this newly created subscription will now be listed along with the various subscriptions.

Here, the total outstanding amount against that customer and the number of invoices that are pending for payment will be displayed.

The search bar allows the customer to search for the required subscription.

Click on +New Subscription to create an absolutely new subscription.

Each subscription will be displayed with the following details:-

  • Name of the subscription

  • Name of the product associated with it

  • The various status of the subscription

  • The date of the next invoice of the subscription

  • The status of the invoice

  • The invoices that are pending payment will have the Pay Now link along with the total amount due against that subscription. The payment can be made instantly using this link.

The Manage dropdown against each subscription can be used to make the various changes to the subscription.

Now you have completed the processes of creating a new subscription. This new subscription will appear as below with the status tag.
